Return to the Fall 2024 Newsletter Recap of an Enriching 3-Day Educational Oral Medicine Program in India
We are thrilled to share with you the highlights of our recent three-day educational program in Oral Medicine, “Essential and Practical Oral Medicine: Building Blocks of Success”, held from February 5th to 7th at Saveetha Dental College in Chennai, India. This event was a remarkable blend of education, social interaction, and cultural exchange, leaving an indelible mark not only on participants but on us as teaching faculty.
Beyond the academic setting, the event provided a platform for networking and establishing meaningful social connections. A total of 80 oral medicine residents from over 30 Oral Medicine training programs across India, had the chance to interact with peers, mentors, and experts in an informal setting, promoting the exchange of ideas and fostering a sense of community within the field of Oral Medicine. Moreover, Chennai, with its rich cultural heritage, served as the perfect backdrop for our event where we were treated to cultural showcases and local delicacies, providing a unique and immersive experience and forging connections beyond the realm of academia.

The core focus of our program was to enhance the knowledge and skills of both trainees and faculty in the field of Oral Medicine. A blend of insightful lectures, engaging interactive sessions, and professional development exercises, covering a diverse range of topics were delivered. The content was meticulously curated to address current advancements, challenges, and best practices in Oral Medicine while incorporating means of artificial intelligence to facilitate material delivery and outcome assessment.
