The Heights of Care for Patients with Head and Neck Cancer

I recently published in the Journal of Dental Research, as part of my fellowship in oral oncology at Miami Cancer institute, A Review of Immunotherapy for Head and Neck Cancer. It provides a brief history of immunotherapy, predominantly immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), and their possible immune-related adverse events (oral irAEs) in patients with oral premalignant lesions and/or head and neck cancer. I wrote this manuscript based on insights gained from oncologists whom I rotated with during my fellowship, including, Dr. Alessandro Villa, chief of oral medicine, oral oncology and dentistry.   The fellowship is valuable for any oral medicine resident looking for an individualized training in oral oncology. If you go through this fellowship, you won't just climb news heights, you’ll learn how to bring others there with you. For me, that’s what this journey is all about!
