BIO: 
Michael Glick is the Fields-Rayant Endowed Professor and Executive Director, Center for Integrative Global Oral Health, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Glick has an extensive publication record, including more than 350 original research articles, editorials, and book chapters, and has authored, edited and co-edited 12 textbooks.

Dr. Glick is past Dean, School of Dental Medicine, University at Buffalo, past-President of the American Board of Oral Medicine and served as Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of the American Dental Association from 2005 to 2020.   

Nathaniel Simon Treister, DMD, DMSc

BIO: 
Dr. Treister is Chief of the Divisions of Oral Medicine and Dentistry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Treister earned his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and subsequently completed his Oral Medicine certificate and Oral Biology doctoral training at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he is an Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity. He is board certified in Oral Medicine and practices at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with special interest in oral mucosal diseases, salivary gland diseases, and oral complications in cancer patients. He has published extensively in the field of oral medicine with an emphasis on oral complications of hematopoietic cell transplantation and chronic graft-versus-host disease. He currently serves as Study Chair for Children’s Oncology Group study ACCL1031 entitled “A Randomized Double Blinded Trial of Topical Caphosol to Prevent Oral Mucositis in Children Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation”, and as site Principal Investigator for ORARAD, an NIDCR sponsored study investigating the late effects of head and neck radiation therapy on oral health outcomes.

Dr. Brittany Klein is an oral medicine specialist in the department of Otolaryngology at Atrius Health in Boston, Massachusetts and a part-time instructor in Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She attended dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry and completed her oral medicine training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Craig S. Miller, DMD

Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Development at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UKCD)

BIO: 
Craig S. Miller, DMD, MS, is the Alvin L. Morris Professor of Oral Health Research and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Development at the College of Dentistry. He is board certified in Oral Medicine, with 35 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of complex oral health issues and medically compromised patients. Dr. Miller is the Associate Editor of Oral Diseases and Past-Editor of the Oral Medicine Section of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology. He has authored more than 200 scientific publications and co-authored four internationally recognized textbooks that are used in dental education including the text, “Dental Management of the Medically Compromised Patient” now in its tenth edition.  

Thamer Musbah, BDS

Associate Professor and Chief, Division of Oral Diagnosis and Oral Medicine, Oral Health Practice, University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

BIO: 
Dr. Musbah earned his dental degree from Tripoli University, College of Dentistry, in Tripoli, Libya. He is currently an Associate Professor and Division Chief of Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine, and Oral Radiology at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, where he also serves as the Director of the Dental Urgent Care Clinic.

Dr. Musbah furthered his expertise by completing a certificate program in the dental management of special needs patients, oral medicine, and orofacial pain at New York University. He then pursued residencies in Oral Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and in Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

A Diplomate of both the American Board of Oral Medicine and the American Board of Orofacial Pain, Dr. Musbah's clinical interests are focused on the management and treatment of oral lesions, dry mouth (including Sjogren’s syndrome), burning mouth syndrome, TMJ disorders, facial pain, and the dental management of obstructive sleep apnea. 

Arwa Farag, BDS, DMSc, FRCSEd.

Dr. Arwa Farag is an Assistant Professor and a Consultant of Oral Medicine, Orofacial Pain, and Dental Sleep Medicine at the Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah Saudi Arabia (FDKAU). She is also an assistant professor at the Department of Diagnostic Sciences, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TSDM), Boston, MA, USADr. Farag graduated from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She completed her residency training in oral medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and earned her Doctor of Medical Science Degree (DMSc) from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She also completed her fellowship in TMD/orofacial pain at TUSDM. Dr. Farag is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral Medicine, a Diplomat of the American Board of Orofacial Pain, and a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh. Dr. Farag is an active member and participants of the American Academy of Oral Medicine, the European Association of Oral Medicine, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, the American Association of Dental Research, and the International Association of Dental Research. She is currently serving as a chair for the Scientific Sessions Committee of the American Academy of Oral Medicine and a steering member of the World Workshop on Oral Medicine. She is an active reviewer in a number of high impact dental journals including Oral Diseases, BMJ, Quad O, and JADA .Dr. Farag continues to support scholars with research interest in the detection and management of dry mouth/Sjogren syndrome, burning mouth syndrome, as well as investigating potentially inappropriate medications in geriatric population. Her clinical interest focuses on management of oral manifestation of systemic diseases, oral complication of cancer therapy, and treatment of chronic orofacial pain conditions.

Roopali Kulkarni, DMD, MPH

BIO

Dr. Roopali Kulkarni is a board-certified oral medicine specialist. She is an Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and serves as the Assistant Director of the postgraduate oral medicine residency program. She obtained both her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) and Master of Public Health degrees (M.P.H.) from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her postgraduate residency training in Oral Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Chief Resident her second year.

She currently teaches predoctoral and postdoctoral students clinically and didactically. She was the 2022 recipient of the Penn Dental Medicine Earle Bank Hoyt award for dedication and excellence in teaching. Her scholarly activity focuses on research within oral medicine and public health. She is an active researcher in the World Workshop on Oral Medicine and is a Senior Fellow at the Penn Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. In addition to her faculty responsibilities, she treats patients within the University of Pennsylvania Health System and is the Section Chief of Oral Medicine at the ChristianaCare Hospital System.

Dr. Kulkarni has maintained active involvement in organized dentistry. She currently serves as a national media spokesperson for the American Dental Association, on the Philadelphia County Dental Society board, and on multiple councils and committees in the Pennsylvania Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, and the American Academy of Oral Medicine. She is a 2024 recipient of the American Dental Association “10 Under 10” Award and the 2024 recipient of the Pennsylvania Dental Association Recognition Award, praising her commitment to dental education. She travels across the state and country providing continuing education lectures on topics in oral medicine, public health, and leadership development. Her passions lie in community service, wellness, advocacy, dance, and music!
