The American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM) member and Diplomate, Dr. Joseph D'Ambrosio, has been awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award by the UConn School of Dental Medicine. (Press Release Provided by UCONN School of Dental Medicine)

Joseph D’Ambrosio, DDS, MS, has been awarded the Distinguished Faculty Award by the UConn School of Dental Medicine in recognition of his 25 years of service and dedication to the School.

Dr. D’Ambrosio was recognized with the award at the School of Dental Medicine’s Reunion Celebration on Saturday, October 24 in Hartford, CT. 

Dr. D’Ambrosio is a graduate of Xaverian High School (1972) and Columbia University (1976), both in New York City. He received his dental degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in 1980.  He completed a General Practice Residency at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, and received a Master of Science degree in Oral Medicine from SUNY-Buffalo in 1986.  He was on the dental faculty at SUNY-Buffalo from 1981-87, and then served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Dentistry at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. 

Dr. D’Ambrosio joined the faculty of the UConn School of Dental Medicine in 1989 and served as Chair of the Section or Oral Medicine from 2005 until his retirement in October 2014. He currently resides in Tucson, Arizona with his wife Marlene, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Pima Community College.
