If desired, there will be opportunity to participate in a busy referral-based oral medicine intramural faculty practice, as well as support for obtaining medical staff privileges in local hospital/s. The successful candidate will be appointed to one of the academic departments in the School, according to their background and credentials. Our main facility includes a state-of-the-art 45,000–square-foot James J. Fritts DDS Clinical Care Center on the IU-Indianapolis campus, adjacent to local hospitals and part of an urban academic health center. In 2026, we will open our newly renovated Delta Dental Special Care Clinic to enhance our ability to train oral health professionals and provide care for patients with disabilities, including those with complex craniofacial disorders and medical complexity in an interdisciplinary setting. This setting provides additional opportunities for faculty practice for the candidate for this position. IUSD enrolls approximately 800 students annually in degree and/or certificate programs in dentistry. We offer DDS, undergraduate certificates a and Bachelors degrees in allied dental programs, PhD, and MSD and certificates in advanced dental specialty programs tailored to the current and future needs of the professions and the communities we serve.
