Dr. Andres Pinto, who is the Vice President of AAOM, has also been named Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies at Case Western Reserve University, School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio Dean Kenneth Chance of the School of Dental Medicine has named, Andres Pinto, chair and professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences, Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies. Pinto brings outstanding clinical, research and teaching experience to this critically important role. AAOM member, Dr. Milda Chmieliauskaite, was selected by Case Western Reserve University Dental School to attend the ADEA summer program for emerging leaders, which took place at ADEA in Washington DC from July 11-14th. As part of the program, she will work on a team-based research project culminating in an abstract presentation at the ADEA meeting in the spring of 2019, Chicago, IL. This program covers topics such as leadership styles, team building, and time management that are essential to planning and implementing a successful academic career. The highly interactive program has been designed specifically to give faculty guidance, insight, and skills to propel their careers, and is suited for junior faculty members, whether they recently joined their institutions after a residency or after time spent in private practice. A new fellowship has been established that will support and encourage study across disciplines. The Dr. Thomas P. Sollecito One Health Fellowship in Oral Medicine will provide financial support for educational programming within Penn Dental Medicine’s Department of Oral Medicine for veterinary dentists or oral medicine fellows with an interest in veterinary oral medicine. The fellowship was established through the generous support of Dr. Jamie G. Anderson. |
