Oral medicine residency programs in the United States are required to be at least in part hospital-based, lending to a high degree of multidisciplinary care and interprofessional education.

In this webinar, Nathaniel Treister, DMD, DMSc, DABOM, Chief of Oral Medicine and Dentistry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and interim residency program director, will moderate an interactive and informative discussion of several challenging clinical cases with two of his third-year residents, Drs. Rossella Intini and Shaiba Sandhu.

Objectives

After reviewing this course work the participants should be able to:

1. Appreciate the role of oral medicine in the diagnosis of systemic conditions through oral manifestations
2. Be able to prioritize and safely deliver necessary dental care to medically complex patients to expedite their medical treatment
3. Understand the importance of interdisciplinary care in oral medicine
